Fishing holidays in France with lakeside accommodation
The 22 acre French lake is over 100 years old. The lake is river fed with a gravel bottom and rocks. It has not been drained for five years so the stock is not known but it is known that there are carp, roach, bream, tench and perch.
Bait can be provided but we do stipulate that no boilies, pop ups or nuts are allowed. We ask that only corn, maggots, bread, worms, pellets and hemp are used. Tackle hire can also be arranged and a boat can be hired saving a long walk to the top of the lake!
Night fishing permitted. Bivvys are not available for hire, but you are welcome to bring your own. Fishing tackle is available for hire.
We cannot promise you bags of 30 and 40lb carp because the stock is not known, but we can promise you plenty of 20 and 30lb carp. I fished the lake for the 1st time in November 2005 and caught 40lb of roach plus carp up to 30lb in 4 hours.
There are twelve swims. There is no weed in the lake although lilies have been introduced. The top end does have some snags from fallen trees and the average depth is three to four feet with nine to ten feet through the middle channel.
Believe me it is so quiet you can hear your hair grow!
