Chenerailles holds its famous Horse Fair Foire des Chevaux twice a year on the 2nd Sunday of May and October.
Just outside Chenerailles is a leisure lake set in a pine forest with a beach for safe swimming, picnic areas and a childrens play area.
Les Monts de Gueret- The chain of hills to the west and south of Gueret makes up the Monts de Gueret and area renowned for its natural beauty pre-historic history with its huge granite blocks rising from the forest where there are waymarked footpaths.
Les Loups de Chabrieres – This wildlife park south of Gueret in the Chabrieres forest is an animal sanctuary, home to several packs of wolves.
Observatoire Planetarium – in the centre of Chabrieres park is an observatory with a 450mm telescope.
Les Trois Lacs - The Three Lakes area from Celle Dunoise to Jouillat are a short drive away in the valley of the Grande Creuse river which is held back by dams to produce three leisure lakes with sheltered sandy beaches, surrounded by forests ideal for picnicking and watersports.
Les Chateaux – Chenerailles – 15th century Château de Villemonteix
Boussac 12th/15th century Chateau where George Sand once lived and wrote one of her novels.
Tapissier – Aubusson, the world capital of tapestry weaving since 6th century where you can visit the Museum of Tapestry.
